Fatal: Woman dies of burn injuries

FAISALABAD: A woman died on Friday of burn injuries she suffered in, what the FIR registered on her own complaint said was, an attack by unidentified people at her home in Batala Colony. The FIR states that Mehnaz Bibi, 35, was set on fire while working in a kitchen at her house in Chishtia Park. It said the fire was put out and the women taken to the hospital by her in-laws and some neighbours who were drawn to the scene on hearing her screams. SHO Ali Imran said they were also investigating whether or not the woman had committed suicide. He said some neighbours had told the police that she was not on good terms with her in-laws. “They said there had been a quarrel between the woman and her mother-in-law on Thursday night,” he said.
