Hussain Asghar: SC seeks report on Hajj probe chief
The chief justice directed the secretary establishment to expedite the inquiry.
ISLAMABAD:
The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed the secretary establishment to expedite the inquiry matter of former Inspector General Police of Gilgit-Baltistan Hussain Asghar and submit report by August 28.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry resumed the hearing of a suo motu case related to corruption in Hajj arrangements in 2010.
The chief justice directed the secretary establishment to expedite the inquiry and remarked if Asghar had reported to the establishment division he should be rereinstated and subsequently resume inquiry into the Hajj corruption case.
