Re-labeling goods: Men caught selling IDPs’ rations

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Assistant Coordination Officer (ACO), Hamidullah, and Deputy Superintendent Officer (DSP) City Circle, Abdul Ghafur, arrested four people caught selling rationed food for IDPs in markets in DI Khan on Wednesday. A police official Hamidullah said that the DCO and DSP raided a wood factory in the Deen Pur area and recovered 284 sacks of flour, 20 sacks of pulses and 150 sacks of rice hidden in various compartments in the factory. The accused men allegedly purchase these items from Waziristan’s IDPs and change the labels from the World Food Program sacks to commonly used sacks. The sacks of food containing the IDPs’ rations are being sold as normal food in local markets.
