Air Show: Air Chief attends Russian Air Force centenary celebration

Event hosted aerial and static display of vintage as well as fifth-generation combat aircrafts of the world.

After attending celebrations to mark the centenary of the Russian Air Force, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Chief of Air Staff Tahir Rafique Butt arrived back in Islamabad on Monday.


Butt was invited by his Russian counterpart to attend the celebrations which were marked by a mega air show at the famous Zhukovsky airfield, renowned as the venue of the MAX air show. The event hosted aerial and static display of vintage as well as fifth-generation combat aircrafts of the world.

The air chief held a formal meeting with his Russian counterpart and discussed various professional matters, including strengthening of the relations between the two air forces. In his address at an international conference, The Sky for All, held as part of the celebrations, Butt highlighted the role of PAF in the ongoing military operations against terrorists in the country’s tribal areas.

Time has come to consider Russia as source of advance weapons and technology. Iran, Russia, China and Pakistan all together can take down any threatening alliance in the world.
