Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad and Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah arrived at Quaid’s mosoleum along with members of the Cabinet. They laid wreaths and said fateha prayers there. The Pakistani flag was also hoisted on the occasion.
While talking to the media, the chief minister and governor of Sindh said that by standing under the shade of the mausoleum, they are reviving their commitment to the nation.
The ceremony held at the mausoleum of national poet, Allama Iqbal, was attended by Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Director-General Rangers Major General Hilal Hussain and other prominent personalities.
Children participating at the event sang national songs, expressing their fervour and zeal.
During his address, Sharif mentioned the efforts made by Muslims in the wake of independence in 1947. DG Rangers raised the Pakistani flag at the ceremony held at Wagah border.
Independence Day celebrations held at Police Line in Peshawar were attended by Chief Minister Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Amir Haider Hoti, who also raised the flag at the event.
While in Quetta people celebrated Independence Day with fervor.
Speaker Balochistan Assembly Muhammad Aslam Bothani said during his address that the situation of the country and the provinces implies that Independence Day should not only be limited to celebrations.
Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani took part in the celebrations held at Ayub Stadium.

PAKISTAN ZINDABAD! InshAllah will make Pakistan a better place for all those who bleed green
Happy Independence Day to our Pakistani friends.
May you get great prosperity and success this year.
@Pakistani: Dear Friend, It is your presumption that army is not corrupt. Unbeliever has rightly answered you by saying "the institution you are so much boasting about can with it’s draconian powers supress all the news that could implicate it in any sort of corruption scandal. also, they can get what they want without resorting to corruption, as they have framed the policies in such a manner. and politicians have to resort to dishonest ways to match up to them."
However I agree that politicians in India have amassed huge money; but being a democratic and free country at least we all know the truth. Yes we are a growing democracy and with better education and GDP growth one day people will stop electing such politicians then we will reach the heights we are aiming for. Any day it is better than being under the boots of an Army dictatorship.
@cyma and cheema Today every Pakistani desires to live and work and get education and get medical treatment and get refuge ( including politicians ) in farangi ( western) country! Is this what you call Independence?
Americans do not desire all this!
happy indepence day to all pakistani brothers from india
Happy Independence day to all my friends in Pakistan.
Happy Independence Day to all Pakistani Friends.
Happy Independence to all my Pakistani Brothers and sisters. May God give peace , happiness and prosperity to Pakistan and they can have a Pakistan free from violence and terror attacks!!. All the best wishes from people of India!!!!! God bless Pakistan!!
Wish we had the courage to celebrate our independence on the right day. Unfortunately, we just want to be different from India and willing to ignore historical facts even for such important occasions. Effectively due to this willful error, we annually celebrate and commemorate the last day of British rule over us.

however, this is time to celiberate independence, and not day to day bickering.
happy independence day once again.

Happy Independence Day everyone. May Allah make our country's future bright and prosperous. May we work harder towards the progress of our country, treat everyone equally, and contribute bit by bit towards the success of our nation. Ameen
@VINOD: My friend, even if the whole power in Pakistan is with our Military Leadership , we are not ashamed of it, We love our army , atleast we have an institution which is corruption free...and we have a live example of India , what these politicians did for you except having billions of dollars in swiss banks, more than of us is lying below the poverty line in india? isn't?
@VINOD: A simple answer from my side would be that todays Pakistan is a complex country but your questions don't really matter to us common Pakistanis since we don't care much anyways. All I know is that we are a very proud nation no matter what kind of allegations etc come our way. Thank you for your kind words. Pakistan Zindabad!
we need unity it`s an apeal please help the muslims
Please accept our best wishes on Independence day. May God bless Pakistan with Prosperity and peace. The report says "During his address, Sharif mentioned the efforts made by Muslims in the wake of independence in 1947. DG Rangers raised the Pakistani flag at the ceremony held at Wagah border." This brings two questions to my mind if some one could please answer. 1. Why has the Chief Minister Sahib only mentioned the efforts made by muslims and not all the people of Pakistan including the minorities? 2. When Chief Minister Sahib was present how come the DG Rangers a Major General Sahib raised the flag? sounds a bit funny to us in India.
