Sialkot shame
It’s disturbing to watch the video being played on and equally disturbing to hear comments from our esteemed minister.
ISLAMABAD:
This is with reference to your coverage of the Sialkot lynching. It’s disturbing to watch the video being played on and equally disturbing to hear comments from our esteemed minister of interior who wants to hang the culprits exactly where the innocent brothers were brutally murdered. Others are of the opinion that those involved in the lynching should be taken to the same place and beaten with sticks until they are dead. If we do that, how are we different from those who beat the brothers to death who were accused on the spot and executed on the spot? We are looking for quick justice, Taliban style. Most of us do not want to wait for the judicial process to take its due course and want instant results. No wonder we see this brutality all over Pakistan. It’s the mindset we share with the Taliban which result in these brutal acts taking place. I pray for these two brothers and also pray that this vigilante justice does not take the lives of any more innocent Pakistanis.
