Twitter Alert: Support Ansar Abbasi campaign kicks off
According to the Twitter rumour-mill, a column of Abbasi's that did not make the publishing cut was published by news portal Saach.tv wherein he spoke about the clout of cable operators in Pakistan in influencing news channels, certain anchorpersons and journalists into not discussing the illegal airing of Indian channels in Pakistan
Lambasting vulgar and obscene content on television, Abbasi's column also talked about cable operators pressurising the aforementioned parties into not covering/reporting on the Supreme Court case proceedings regarding a petition filed by ex-Amir of the Jamaat-e-Islami, Qazi Hussain Ahmad, and Justice (retd) Wajihuddin Ahmed of the Supreme Court.

It is pathetic that ansar abbasi is facing a blackout for saying HAQ... Im not against progression and media, but do we have to manufacture obscene and filthy content for ratings...y cant we more focus on improving the quality of entertainment for ratings instead of going against our social norms...

Ah the delicious irony. Ansar Abbasi has a RIGHT to be published. Rejecting his article amounts to media censorship. Yet the same Ansar Abbasi's article is advocating what? ah yes - media censorship.
I wonder if people who rail against 'vulgarity' would be more at home in Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia?
