PM Ashraf announces Rs1 mn reward for BA exams topper

LAHORE: Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has announced to reward Mohammad Muhsen Ali with Rs1 million for securing first position in BA 2012 examinations, Express News reported on Sunday.

Ali, who works at his brother’s tandoor, secured 688 marks in total and broke all previous records in Punjab.

A private student hailing from Hafizabad district, Ali is the eldest son of labourer Nazeer Ahmed among eleven siblings and works at a Tandoor in Lahore.

Ali hopes to continue with his studies and pursue a major in English.

The Punjab University had announced the result of BA/BSc annual examinations 2012 on August 11. As many as 1,43,750 students appeared in the examinations out of which 57,284 candidates succeeded in the examination, leading to a pass percentage of 39.85% this year.

Hussain Naqvi | 12 years ago | Reply PM has shown good gesture for the development of Education but there is a question mark that he announced the award for the most talented student of the prvince of Punjab while ignoring all other Public Universities of rest of the provinces.This is sheer descemenative treatment which needed to be reviewed by the Honourable PM.

On another note, hope the PM used his own money for the reward rather than our taxes
