Farewell: SC is independent, says Justice Jan
A former chief justice of the Peshawar High Court and judge of the apex court will retire on August 18.

The Supreme Court is an independent institution and its decisions are always in accordance with the law and Constitution, said Justice Shakirullah Jan on Saturday. He was addressing lawyers during his visit to the Peshawar High Court Bar Association (PHCBA). Justice Jan, a former chief justice of the Peshawar High Court and a judge of the apex court was paying his farewell visit to the PHCBA before his retirement on August 18. Jan was also accompanied by Chief Justice PHC Dost Muhammad Khan, judges, law officers and lawyers including officer bearers of the PHCBA.
