Wisconsin Shooting: Nina Fite visits Nankana

US Consul General Nina Fite visited the birthplace of Baba Guru Nanak at Nankana Sahib.

LAHORE: US Consul General Nina Fite visited the birthplace of Baba Guru Nanak at Nankana Sahib to meet with Sikh community representatives and expressed condolences over the August 5 shooting at a Sikh Gurdwara in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. The US Consul General said, “We are deeply saddened by the senseless loss of lives and injuries caused by the shooting in Wisconsin.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families.  Any incident like this one is tragic, especially when it happens in a place of worship.” Fite said the Sikh community was a “vibrant part of [the] American family”, adding that America “takes very seriously the responsibility to respect and protect people of all faiths.”
