Unfair punishment: PHC seeks FC Commandant’s reply

A member of the force approached PHC for help after he was sacked in 2011.

The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has sought a reply from the Frontier Constabulary (FC) commandant as to why he sacked his force members.


Jan Afzal, a member of the force approached PHC for help after he was sacked in 2011.  According to the details, he had been deployed at the Mulazai FC Post in Tank when militants carried out a midnight assault and took 15 FC personnel hostage on December 30, 2011.

Zyarat Khan, counsel for Afzal informed the bench that after 15 days of captivity, eight FC personnel managed to escape from area while those left behind, were slaughtered.

When the FC personnel reached the headquarters, they were termed as cowards and removed from their duties. A division bench comprising Justice Muftahuddin and Justice Shahjahan Akhunzada accepted the writ petition and issued orders for the commandant FC to submit his reply before next date of the case proceedings.
