Explosives haul: Police foil terror bid in Quetta

A large number of police uniforms and fake number plates were also recovered.

QUETTA: Police on Thursday foiled a terrorism attempt here and seized an explosives laden vehicle. They arrested three terrorists in a house raid in the Shalkot area of the Eastern Bypass in the provincial capital on Thursday.  According to sources, police acting on a tip-off, and other security agencies raided a house in the Eastern Bypass area. During the search operation, they seized 15 suicide jackets, 12,000 kg of explosives, two hand grenades, three home-made bombs, two mixer gadgets, 7 RPGs, 6 cylinders full of explosives, 20 rocket tubes and many rounds of bullets. Police did not disclose the identity of the suspects picked up from the house for security reasons. According to officials, a large number of police uniforms and fake number plates were also recovered from the property.
