Roundtable conference: MQM to woo PML-N again after Eid
Though the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to stay away from a proposed national unity roundtable conference, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has not lost hope and would approach the main opposition party after Eidul Fitr.
“We will be meeting the PML-N after Eid,” said MQM Deputy Convener Dr Farooq Sattar on Wednesday.
The PML-N has decided not to participate in the roundtable terming it as part of ‘an ugly ploy’ to postpone the next parliamentary elections. However, Sattar appears confident enough to make the party review its decision.
Addressing the media, Sattar said MQM chief Altaf Hussain had invited all political groups to join hands to save Pakistan from ‘unseen threats’.
“The country is going through a crucial time and is facing domestic and foreign threats. And in order to deal with these issues, political parties will have to join hands,” Sattar added.
Sattar also invited the media, which he said has emerged as the fourth pillar of state, to MQM’s initiative while urging it to perform its due role.
The MQM has held a series of meetings with political and religious parties, including the Awami National Party, to invite them to the proposed roundtable that it claims will devise ways to steer the country out of current crises.

@Hasan: It is MQM that creates the law and order situation in Karachi whenever they are out of power. It gets somewhat better when they are in power not because the control crime but because of the fact that they control the criminals.
Demographics of Punjab are very different from Karachi; there are other political Parties operating within Karachi, MQM has never been an obstacle in there way; and has always called for unity amongst them.
MQM has always fought and will continue fighting for the city, but certain elements within; plant such hatred propanganda and fund such activities. The last point I will make; that it is Karachi that is surviving in this demographics; if it was any other city of punjad; there would've already been mad chaos. It is only MQM efforts, that has maintained peace; otherwise situation could've been a whole lot worse.

You made a typo, PML-N needs to be replaced with MQM and vice-versa. Because in Karachi we can see the great performance made by MQM, ANP & PPP, your great good parties
Been in power of 20 years? LOL; and what you call rule of law, I call it AROGANCE; if there is an effort for such rune of law; atleast try to acheieve it in Punjab; where you have you control. PML N has failed at every opportunity they've gotten. Least to say; only thing they've been consistant with is CORRUPTION.
Where as MQM has delivered results to there voters and suppoters.
RESULTS vs. CORRUPTION- Great Comparison; Yet MQM is still up for reconcilliation; I can only praise there leadership for having courage and patience to do so; especially by forgetting the past of Sharif Brother.
Personally, PML-N doesn't deserve being a part of this; what to they know about reconsiliation, only thing they are concerned about is looting from the rich and capitalizing there wealth.

@Iram: because in this term PML N has geniunely served in Punjab and other parties have not managed to do even 20% of it. So i may agree with your statement of poor credibility among highly credible parties like PPP and MQM :)
