ISLAMABAD:

The tailor who killed his client after a brawl over returning the fabric was handed over by his family on Wednesday. The Bani Gala police were wrong about his age; he was an adult in possession of a national identity card. However, the weapon he used was obtained illegally and was unlicensed.

The police produced Muhammad Zeeshan before a court which sent him on four days’ physical remand. A police official said they were investigating where he got the gun from and if there were other motives behind the killing than the spontaneous fight with the client over the delay in stiching clothes for Eid.

The officer said Zeeshan went into hiding after killing Shah Nawaz at his shop in Mohra Noor in the capital’s outskirts on Monday night. His family produced him before the police on Wednesday after an investigation led to his hideout where his family was keeping watch.

Based on the information gathered from family and eyewitnesses, the police said the tailor was under-age and could be considered a juvenille. However, it turned out that he was over 18.

Zeeshan shot Nawaz dead after a brawl with him over the latter’s insistance he return his fabric. Police said his refusal apparently infuriarated Nawaz and he started abusing the tailor who pulled out a gun and shot him. Nawaz died on the spot while the tailor escaped after shooting him.
