Held accountable: Seven anti-polio workers suspended

DI KHAN: DI Khan Commissioner, Sardar Muhammad Abbas showed disappointment and anger over the dismal performance of the anti-polio drive in Tank district, issuing an immediate order to suspend seven polio workers and demanding an inquiry report within a week. Abbas said that negligence could not be borne during the three-day campaign against polio to be held after Eidul Fitr. In this drive the polio vaccination is to be administered to every child below the age of five. The commissioner showed satisfaction over the polio vaccination campaign in DI Khan. He said that the polio vaccination team could also ask for the help of the army during the anti-polio campaign in South Waziristan.
