Rural development: Govt to provide Rs0.2m subsidy on 618 tractors in Faisalabad

The government has decided to provide a Rs200,000 subsidy on the purchase of a tractor to young people living in rural areas under its Green Tractor Scheme.


Agriculture EDO Naseem Haider on Tuesday said that tractors will be distributed at tehsil level. Young people between the ages of 18 and 35 years are eligible to apply if they own a minimum of two and a half acres and no more than 25 acres of land.

He said 618 tractors will be distributed in Faisalabad district. He said 26 tractors were reserved for Chak Jhumra, 113 for Jaranwala, 117 for Faisalabad City, 190 for Faisalabad Saddar, 54 for Samundri and 58 for Tandlianwala.

He said 105 tractors will be distributed in Chiniot district, 311 in Jhang, 179 in Toba Tek Singh, 439 in Bahawalpur, 349 in Bahawalnagar, 575 in Rahim Yar Khan, 284 in Dera Ghazi Khan, 203 in Layyah, 490 in Muzaffargarh, 203 in Rajanpur, 400 in Gujranwala, 228 in Gujrat, 93 in Hafizabad, 125 in Mandi Bahauddin, 137 in Narowal, 309 in Sialkot, 790 in Lahore, 274 in Qasoor, 112 in Nankana Sahib, 252 in Okara, 263 in Sheikhupura, 352 in Khanewal, 205 in Lodhran, 147 in Pakpatan, 203 in Sahiwal, 364 in Vehari, 392 in Rawalpindi, 103 in Jhelum, 119 in Mianwali and 289 in Sargodha.

Agriculture Extension District Officer Chaudhry Abdul Hameed said application forms for the scheme were available at the assistant commissioner office in every tehsil and the applications will be received till August 31.

He said application forms can also be downloaded from the Agriculture Department website. He said a photocopy of a form was also acceptable.
