Whereabouts unknown: Doctors protest over missing colleague

Protesters held rally from the Civil Hospital and staged a sit-in at Balochistan High Court and Balochistan Assembly.

QUETTA: Doctors staged a protest rally and observed a strike on Tuesday for the recovery of their missing colleague Dr Ghulam Rasool Kakar. The protesters, led by Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) President Dr Sutan Tareen, held the rally from the Civil Hospital and staged a sit-in at the Balochistan High Court and Balochistan Assembly. National Party Leader Dr Hayee Baloch, Balochistan National Party (BNP) leader Agha Hasan, Jamat Ahle-Hadis leader Maulana Ali Mohammad Turab and Balochistan Bar Association leader Jumma Khan Mandohkel were among the participants to express their solidarity with the protesters. Kakar was kidnapped on Brewery Road in Quetta last Wednesday, when he was on his way home from duty at Bolan Medical College.
