Allegations against the CJ: PPP suspends Abidi from core committee
He is also barred from entering the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
The party has asked him to resign from the post of PPP Karachi division president.
Abidi hurled fiery allegations at Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry in his press conference and had demanded a resignation from him and other judges who were reinstated under the Provisional Constitutional Order (PCO).
The party’s secretary, Jehangir Badar, issued the show cause notice to him. Abidi confirmed receiving the notice.
During a press conference in Islamabad, Abidi had held Justice Chaudhry responsible for the alleged financial impropriety done by his son, Dr Arsalan Iftikhar.
The senator had said that if the chief justice does not tender a resignation, then he will “force him out from the same way he had been restored as a judge.”
The senator had produced bank account statements of Dr Arsalan and had said that the person who used to “work under somebody else” now owns billions of rupees. He also showed that the billing address mentioned was that of the Chief Justice House in Islamabad.

Yes, I agree with your point about action against elected leaders. I believe he should continue like this for next upcoming Govt (PMLN OR others) too, hence not only PPP. Only time will tell.

CCTV footage was provided to court in support of Arsalan's claim. Whats wrong with that?

Did you try to find out the reason why proceeding stopped? Investigating commission under NAB was made up of biased and pro-Riaz personals. It is the right of a person under investigation to provide his reservation with the supporting evidence.
During this time, almost every official in Pakistan have a tag price, Riaz have all the money in the world to buy them out.
Rather the guilty one is Riaz or Arsalan, Govt should help court to reach on to verdict. Delay tactics and "shouting Abdi" will only complicate the case.

Relief was not only given to Arsalan but to Riaz as well, you are showing only the half of it. Picking up bench is part of the process and that is how it work. Likewise, Parliament members picking up PMs and Presidents is some how the same process. And where else is the interference? Taking place in his home(I heard he Arsalan is not at his parent's place until hearing concludes)? Is providing home not part of benefits that CJ get? What's wrong with that? Can you not trial President's and Pm's sons (living with them) in Pakistan while their parents hold the highest and strongest positions in Govt? Do you expect their sons to be trials outside the country?
I still think, Abdi yelled bit too early. Or he yelled for some reasons not known to us. Time will tell.

@Zia Syed: After Gen Mush charge sheeted CJ for corruption including that of his son, nobody held the CJ responsible for that. However, it was only after the CJ took up his case all on his own and told the nation in the SC that his son is a poor homeless man. After this perjury and lie the CJ got himself involved nobody asked him for that. Then the CJ took up the case and after allegations of conflict of interest he had to step out of the bench but still the bench is his handpicked for the crown prince. Once again the SC gave relief to Arsalan and the investigating team was quashed. The longer the interference from father continues the more deeply he gets himself involved in the corruption of his son. Of course father is not responsible for his son's actions except they are taking place at father's official home provided by the taxpayers for free. I still don't get you guys, why blame CJ for son? We never blamed Zardari for his son partying in UK! Arsalan case is in court, if Abdi have proofs, provide it to the court. Why shouting and yelling to media? If he need to go and collect it, why shouting with out evidence.

PPP is not doing good job sending show cause notice to Abdi. It seems more like "Good you made an statement, now keep quite, no further action required". What PPP should really do is to ask Abdi to provide the evidence to court.
PPP is PPP's biggest enemy. Instead of supporting someone who is defending PPP they are tarnishing him.
Contempt of court threat has become a big joke. If law is equal for every one then why judges are above criticism? Allegations by Senator Abidi deserve investigation not a bullying like a dictator. Arslan case is not going to die mr. Justice.

Kudos to Abidi for telling the truth that everybody is avoiding. When people can ask Sharif to reply the questions from IK, why should we not ask direct questions from the head Qazi in an Islamic state? The PCO CJ testified that his son is poor and homeless, yet he has billions in short time. Gen Mush had asked these same questions but he was a "dictator" so the CJ got away with that. However, the allegations of 2007 are not as old as Swiss case and should be openly investigated and answered. The CJ himself made him a party by taking up his son's case, appointing judges of his choice, changing the investigation team on Arsalan's desire. If this is not involvement and conflict of interest then what is?
The use of the official residence of the CJ for business purposes is very serious. CJ must step down, so that impartial investigations are carried out. So far, we have seen that he kept on manipulating the investigations, which is another serious violation of his oath. But on the other hand his loyalty is to the PCO, not the 1973 constitution.

I have absolutely no sympathy with PPP or Faisal, but why are we surprised? aren't judiciary doing selective activism as well? only focusing on one person and totally ignoring the killers and life and respect of innocent citizen? They let go whatever little amount of killers with evidence that got arrested by law enforcement and the army in swaat, without even asking a question from any one that something must be wrong that we are unable to punish anyone in spite of so much brutality and mayhem in the society? People supported the judiciary so that they can provide even handed impartial justice not to pursue their own vendetta. Even most (may be not this one)newspapers and other media are suppressing the criticism against judiciary as much as they can. Most of the comments never get published and if you submit something in favor that got published right away! Try it yourself.

Abidi just mentioned what is going through mind of every thinking person. Court's prejudice has become so obvious. How courts are trying to hoodwink the populace in Arsalan case is morbid and utterly shameful. If they punish Faisal Abidi for contempt of court, it'll only add to the long list of strange, stupid, illegal and unethical 'unanimous' decisions of present bunch of judges.

Democaracy is being reciduled by ppp, the contempt law they made was simply an insult to democaracy! In deomocracy every one is accountable and bound by law. They have simply made this law to protect themselves and i am glad it was shot down.

What this now? Instead of backing him, why pressure him into submission. What's wrong in asking to clarify certain ambiguities. The man is showing proof of links between the infamous duo. What to say of Faisal Raza Abedi ,he was appointed to look after PIA ,the PIA employes and administration had to do on strike to get him removed .Then Faisal was appointed as President PPP Karachi ,the entire PPP revolted and he had to be removed .You can see he just cant handle anything .Till today he has noting to his credit except loose talk .I feel sorry for him .
