LAHORE:

The committee set up by the government to come up with a revised service structure for paramedics in grades one to four has made no progress, more than a month after its deadline passed, said Punjab Paramedics Alliance (PPA) Chairman Malik Munir Ahmed on Sunday.

The committee was set up on June 10 after the paramedics staged several protests calling for improved pay. Ahmed said that the chief minister had made a promise to the paramedics that the committee would come up with suggestions for revisions to the service structure within three weeks, but it was now almost two months since it had been set up and there were still no recommendations.

The committee includes the additional secretaries for Health, Finance and Regulations and two members of the PPA.
