Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) activists staged a protest in the Takht Bhai area of Mardan district on Sunday. The protestors marched in Sher Garh and Rustam, chanting slogans against the government. Protesters complained that they were still facing severe power cuts. They said Awami National Party (ANP) leaders were unable to govern this province.

Meanwhile, Mardan residents gathered at Pakistan Square, led by Ghulam Rasool, JI district chief. They also broke a lantern, which is the election symbol of the ANP party.

In Timargara, JI activists also protest against the low voltage and unannounced outages. JI senior provincial leader Sirajul Haq led protesters, saying that the government had failed to provide basic necessities that people needed to survive.
