RAHIM YAR KHAN: Eight buffaloes died and another 11 suffered burns in a fire at a barn in  Katcha Chohan area on Thursday. The injured cattle were given first aid by veterinary doctor, Muhammad Ali, who described their condition as critical. He said chances of their survival were very low. Cattle owner Tansoo Khan, a milkman, estimated his loss at around Rs1.2 million. He said he was working in a nearby field when a passerby told them about fire at his barn. He said the fire had spread all over the barn by the time he rushed back home. He said while he and some neighbours were still putting out the fire the wooden roof of the barn caved in, over the cattle. Residents said it was the third fire in the area in three months.
