Accident: Man killed on road; woman looted

RAWALPINDI: A man was killed and a woman was deprived of her bag in the Sadiqabad area on Friday. In the first incident, a man was killed after he was hit by a speeding car on Benazir Bhutto Road. An eyewitness, Muhammad Shafiq, told the Sadiqabad police that the victim was sleeping on a footpath, when a speeding car hit him. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. The four occupants of the car fled from the scene, leaving their vehicle behind, said a police official. Meanwhile, Sultana Bibi lodged a report with the police that two armed motorcyclists snatched her handbag containing Rs117,000 cash and jewellery worth Rs500,000 when she was sitting in her car on BB Road.
