Girls school blown up in Swabi
Amjad Ali, an official of Swabi police, said that girls primary school no. 2 was blown up at around 7:45pm. “The boundary wall and three classrooms were destroyed due to the explosion,” he said.
Ali said that two bombs had been planted inside the building, adding that one had detonated while the other, which weighed 10 kilogrammes, was defused by the police. “The bombs were planted in tin canisters,” Ali added.
The official said that the blast had completely destroyed the building and only one out of the four classrooms remained. He added that no loss of life had been reported and the watchman was in his house at the time of the explosion.
Dr Anwar, who lives near the school, told The Express Tribune that a huge explosion had shook the surrounding area.
Investigations are underway, but no FIR has been registered so far.

Don't take everything at face value. This is not the work of any religious people. The local people are also devout muslims who have strived for decades to put in place basic education for their girls and boys. The people responsible for these incidents are elements sponsored by international elements who are determined to destroy the infrastructure of Pakistan and specifically to sabotage the efforts of Pukhtuns to educate their generations and they are doing it under the cover of religious extremism, which does not exist in Islam and they know it very well. The question has to be asked; where are the funds coming from and why has this started only over the past 5-10 years? International agendas taking shape at a truly local level. May ALLAH swt guide us all towards relief from all these fitnas. They can plot but ALLAH also has plans for the oppressors.
So how does Pakistan plan to grow it's economy keeping 50% of the population out of the workforce?
Oh so sad, this is very discouraging & shameful, Women education is already limited in this area of the gross root level, otherwise Swabi has maximum Literary rate with respect to other areas.
Does it ever occur to these religious fanatics that if there is an Allah, he has forsaken them. They must have something wrong because, if correct in their beliefs, Allah would be pleased and their lot in life would improve. He must not be pleased with something. Trying to base, literally, every decision on religion is no way to live a life and anyone that tells someone else they must do something because it is God's will is simply trying to subjugate them.
Base your moral code on your religion, let that be your guide and live in peace with your neighbors. Be civilized and don't allow others to tell you what to think or do.
Is there any condemnation on this act in local Urdu media having mass readership. Their reaction may have some impact on similar future activities . Really only Allah only can save Pakistan if there is no wide spread condemnation of similar activities. Either people are so accustomed of getting such news on regular basis that it does not touch their heart or they feel that militants are justified in blowing the girls' school and really there is no need for the women to be educated and their activities are meant to be restricted in the four walls of the house..
WOW what a brave act? All the efforts made to encourage those poor girls to at least know how to write their names gone to ashes. I don't know whether to laugh or cry...
What justification is there for not educating women? What are these ignoramuses afraid of? They must be the infidels because no religion could promote the violation of basic human rights, especially to your own flesh and blood. Who exactly do they think this punishes? It only perpetuates the misery.
