Relief measures: Mukhtar directs end to unannounced power outages

ISLAMABAD:


Minister for Water and Power Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar has urged the newly-constituted Energy Management Committee (EMC) to streamline load management, eliminate unscheduled power outages, and ensure equitable load-shedding in the country.


He also directed that there no load shedding be enforced during the sehri and iftar and efforts should be made to provide maximum relief to consumers in the month of Ramazan.

The minister said that smooth and uninterrupted power supply is the priority of the government and the government was utilising all resources to enhance power generation.

Mukhtar asked the officials to ensure proper load management and compliance at the distribution companies’ (DISCO) level, and for coordination between DISCOs and the National Power Construction Corporation (NPCC).
