Violence continues, 2 shot dead in Karachi

Unidentified gunmen shot dead two people in Banaras and Metroville areas.

KARACHI: Two people were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Banaras and Metroville areas of Karachi on Saturday morning.

Karachi has been in the grip of target killings for the past few weeks. Thirteen people were gunned down in the most recent spate of target killings on Thursday and Friday.

An ANP leader was killed on Thursday following which tension and violence gripped the city once again. The Sindh government had ordered security agencies to be on red alert, while several suspects had been arrested from various areas.

The city has remained tense since the killing of MQM leader Raza Haider.

Despicable policy of 'reconciliation', adopted by Mr Zardari and religiously implemented by Rahman Malik, is responsible for the dance of death in the city of Karachi. The press and electronic media are also responsible in failing to call spade a spade as you will hear from them following a neutral stance. Brilliant Ex-CNN Chief International Correspondent was in Bosnia during civil war and she was accused to pro-muslim. She has commented on the criticism on lack of neutrality during the war as follows "Some people accused me of being pro-Muslim in Bosnia. No, there is no equality there and we had to tell the truth.

This is not the time to blame each other. In fact, the various challenges confront by our beloved county demand that we should put our heads together instead of targeting each other.
