Suicide: Woman’s body recovered from canal

Victim's shoes and other personal belongings were found on the canal bank.

DI KHAN: A newly married woman, Shahnaz Bibi, jumped into the Chashma Right Bank Canal in Paharpur, DI Khan. A Bankura police official told The Express Tribune that Shahnaz, a resident of Umir Shah, married Muhammad Amin from Kotla Sydan five months ago. Her brother Alam Din said that she had been suffering from mental illness. Her dead body was recovered from the canal and her shoes and other personal belongings were found on the canal bank.  However, police conducted further investigations after Din said that she had a happy marriage and maintained that she had fallen into the river.
