Ambassadors for Peace: Students to serve as World Bank envoys

Ten students from the University of Peshawar (UoP) will serve as the World Bank’s (WB) ambassadors for peace, after a thorough selection process in October this year. The preferred students will be responsible for identifying key projects for the socio-economic development of Fata under the WB Multi Donor Trust Fund. The decision was taken by a WB delegation led by Robert Bou Jaoude and UoP Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qibla Ayaz on Thursday. Jaoude said his organisation is working to strengthen the state- citizen relationship in Fata, Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Prof Dr Ayaz appreciated their efforts and agreed to cooperate with them. He told the delegation to come up with a defined plan for future collaboration.
