In a statement issued in response to local and international media reports suggesting widespread killings of Muslims, he said that persecution of a particular community in such manner is blatant violation of fundamental humanitarian principles. Burmese government's silence on mass killings of Rohingya Muslims is disturbing.
Imran Khan urged the Pakistani government to mobilise diplomatic efforts on an urgent basis to stop the potential genocide of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
He also urged local and international human rights organisations to fight against the potential genocide of the community.
Khan warned that continued persecution of the community in Myanmar will fuel communal hatred both locally and internationally.
He urged the international community to pressurise the Burmese government to take urgent measures for ending the massacre of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.

@Dad Muhammad: Are you sure you are going to consider the Rohingyas as Muslims? First accept Ahmediyas and Vohras who are just another sects of Islam...you cannot even respect them in your own country so stop talking about other country's internal matters.
@ijaz Mir: with respect, this is not some one else fire but being a muslim those Muslims in Myanmar are our brothers and sisters. If we didn't stop that fire could catch our houses. Assalamualaikum
@Naveen Singla: what are hindus doing in malaysia and uae and gulf countries
dr normasilah what type of dr u r? if some one is talking against buddist terrorism u have problem let them keep on genoside? shame on u if u r medical doctor . u r speaking against ur pledge. u r not what u reffedred. it is hypocracy which u mentioned. its just expression of ur hate that u have mustered up for pakistan. beware what is wrong wd pakistan now adays is just gift of war on terrorism which u modern world has thrusted upon pakistan. watch ur mouth before poking such comments.
Dear @Dr Normasilah, Need I remind you that the term 'Paki' is considered deeply offensive to Pakistanis and furthermore contrary to your sweeping generalisation we are not all hypocrites. When you say that 'they' persecute and massacre minorities I would like to know who exactly you are referring to?
As a Malaysian woman, who lived for several years with my husband in Karachi, I must tell you I cannot help feeling that Pakis are the most hypocritical of all Muslim nations. In their own country, they maltreat, persecute and massacre minorities (including Muslims themselves) but have the temerity to talk to the world of the "massacre" and "genocide" of the Rohingas in Myanmar. Frankly, Pakistan does not have any leverage against any nation today, thanks to its corrupt, fanatic and medieval mindset. We have minorities in Malaysia and we do, occasionally, have differences but by and large we teach our majority people to respect and honour the large minorities such as Chinese, Indians and others. Your institutions have distorted and perverted religion and history, as a result of which most Pakistanis, who have not had proper modern education (there are millions of such people), resort to violence and aggression against the minorities in their country. What right do you have to tell the Myanmar government not to practise "genocide" against the Rohingas? Do you think the world will sit up and applaud you when you cry wolf? If you want the world to respect you, clean up your own backyard and stop the persecution of minorities in your own country first. As far as Mr. Imran Khan is concerned, the less said about him the better. He is a political opportunist who wants to ride the populist wave to grab power. I sincerely hope that the intelligent people of Pakistan, who see through his motives, will deny this man his uninhibited craving for power.
Can please PTI as well as other political/religious parties on the bandwagon to condemn attrocities against a minority in Burma, look inside Pakistan. Have they ever cried/shed a tear for attrocities and subjucation of fraconian laws commited against Pakistani monorities? Hypocrites, trying to gain political milleage.
All Other Muslims Holocaust in Pakistan must stoped….
Imran Khan should not complain if US then condemns genocide of Baluchis in Pakistan. We can’t then call it our internal affair.
This is totally outrage. Misunderstanding of the century!!!!! All news agencies around the world make matter worse they turn Rohinga conflict into religious conflict between Buddhism and Muslim. None of them have any sort of solid evidence. Come and look at Myanmar there are hundreds of mosques and wealthy Muslim. Biggest construction companies in Myanmar are owned by Muslim. Do not take my words and go and check through Internet type “Naing Construction” or “Father Land Construction” you will know the truth behind all media hype.
What about Syria??
Muslims killing muslims is ok for you??
I wonder if they realize a statement such as this, while not a bad thing, just draws attention to their silence on issues within their borders. That's really pitiful coming from people who are making attempts to run a country claiming their motive to be the betterment of the country. Silence from any "leader" in regard to such things is just proof of their actual inability to be a leader. They're obvious cowards even being afraid of their own people... As if they'll fight any difficult battle when they can't even stomach condemning murders of their own people. There's nothing special where it counts. When a politician can't even open their mouth when doing so is basically one of the primary things in their job description, there's no reason to believe they'll lift a finger, either. @Ali Quaid: Considering the condemnation articles prior to this, saying that in regard to this just goes to show that many PTI supporters on here are shameless and overly redundant in their party advertisements to the point of them being the best argument for a spam button being added.
@Ali tanoli:
But but I thought oppression in the name of religion was fine such as Anti-Ahmadi laws and Blasphemy laws?
@Ali Quaid: Guts to speak? What is gutsy to speak in favour of public opinion? Let Imran speak against those in Difa e Pakistan accused of Shia killings and Gojra massacre. Also what about Baluchi killings? Is Imran going to speak against their killers too? Imran is an opportunist, like any other politician, and trying to cash public sentiments.
Pakistan must use its influence in the OIC and put pressure to stop these atrocities. If this does not helps than it must go to UN security council.
Dear Imran please look after Pakistan first, How many Pakistanis are killed every day by another Pakistanis, thanks to Saudi Arabia for spreading their brand of Islam. Pakistan took care of millions of Afghan's refugees .Now it is time for India and Bangladesh to show humanitarian responsibilities. or tell the protectors of Islam Saudis to take care of Burmese Muslims welfare. Pakistan has trouble of its own do not jump into some one else's fire.
A welcome step.
Very responsible of PTI...way to go!
IK notice of these genocide n atrocities little too late, it seems IK just woke up. From last few months this massacre is continuing n whole Christian, Jewish n unfortunately Arab just looked the other side which encouraged Myanmar Budist majority/government continued it's atrocities. It's ironic to notice that their Budithist Sipiritual Leader who goes around the world preaching peace is also quietly watching all this. Shame on such hyprocratic spirituality n silience of Muslim States leaders.
Surprise, surprise IK. Having blinkers in Pakistan with your atrocities committed against ethic cleansing and aligning itself DPC and talking of Rohingya Muslim community in Myanmar. Your credentials are truly credible
What are they doing in Burma in the first place ?
The only Leader who has the Guts to speak.
Muslims Holocaust in Burma must stoped....
