Crime: Man arrested for step-father’s killing

Complainant Abdul Majeed submitted that Ameeran Bibi allegedly killed Mehmood over a domestic dispute.

FAISALABAD: Pir Mehal police have arrested a man suspected of killing his step-father. The FIR registered in the matter also accused his wife Ameeran Bibi, a resident of Chak 676/17-GB in Toba Tek Singh. Complainant Abdul Majeed, brother of deceased Sultan Mehmood, submitted that Ameeran Bibi allegedly killed Mehmood over a domestic dispute. He said her three sons from the first husband abetted her in the crime. The police have sent the boy to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination. They said the suspect, identified as Shehzad Ahmed, had confessed the killing during initial questioning. They said raids were underway to arrest the other suspects. Ameeran had married Sultan Mehmood after the death of her first husband, Haq Nawaz.
