Tight Spot: Dept worried about excessive spending

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah presided over a meeting on Thursday at the CM House on development funds. The meeting discussed budgetary allocation for development process and decided to form a committee comprising finance and, planning and development departments. Sources privy to the meeting said that finance officials complained about excessive expenses, which were making it difficult to pay the employees’ salaries. The officials said that not only were they compelled to take loan from the state bank but were also paying huge interest on it. Shah asked the official to report to him within two days.
