BARA:

Suspected militants killed an elder of the Kamarkhel tribe in AaIa Dandh area of Bara sub-division on Tuesday night on suspicion of being a spy for the political administration officials.

According to an official of the Bara political administration, 80-year-old Arbab Khan was associated with the political administration for the last 20 years. The official said that he was kidnapped from his house and killed.

“The assailants first slaughtered and then shot him,” the official said, adding that a letter has been found near the body saying “spies of the government would meet the same fate.”

According to local tribesmen, Arbab was residing in Peshawar and had gone to his village for a couple of days when the incident occurred. He added that the militants called him to come out of his house. “The masked men abducted and killed him.”

On Wednesday, the deceased was laid to rest in a local graveyard of Khouna Ziyarat.
