Laptop distribution: Court directs CDGL to present cheque

Provincial law officer said a payment of Rs870,000 was made to the university.

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice (CJ) Umar Ata Bandial on Wednesday directed the city district government Lahore (CDGL) to present the copy of the cheque of the payment made to Punjab University (PU) to compensate it for bearing the expense of the laptop distribution ceremony. Earlier, a provincial law officer told the court that the CDGL had reimbursed the expenses incurred on the laptop distribution ceremony. He said a payment of Rs870,000 was made to the university. Hearing was adjourned till August 7.
