High profile murder: Police arrest five suspects

Lawyers had boycotted courts for the arrest of Waraich’s murderers after which the SC took suo motu action.

LAHORE: CIA police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested five men suspected of killing senior Supreme Court (SC) advocate and Punjab Bar Council member Chaudhry Muhammad Nasrullah Waraich. Waraich was shot dead at his house on January 9. Lawyers had boycotted courts for the arrest of Waraich’s murderers after which the SC took suo motu action. Police have arrested Umar Daraz, Muhammad Shahbaz, Zeeshanullah, Bilal Hussain and Mushtaq Ahmed.  Police said the suspects have also confessed to killing Kamran Riaz, a relative of Waraich. However, according to information, four other suspects, namely Irfan Hussain, Luqman Hussain, Nosherwan Hussain and Iftikhar Ali Shah have left for Dubai. Police said the aforesaid will be arrested by Interpol after obtaining their red arrest warrants.
