Tragedy: Three boys drown in Soan River

The police recovered the bodies of three young men from the Soan River near Kaak Pul on Wednesday.


The bodies were shifted to Fauji Foundation Hospital, where two were identified as Atta Muhammad, 25, and Sikandar Khan, 22, the Sihala police said, while the third was still unidentified when this report was filed.

They added the men were spotted drowning in the Soan River by passersby who informed rescue services and the police. After hectic efforts, rescuers and the police managed to recover the bodies. The families of the two that were identified have claimed their bodies.

The men were natives of Dir in K-P and were residing in Rawalpindi. The police said they jumped into the river for a swim but were swept away by the force of the tide.
