Speaking to the media in Karachi after the move, Malik said, “I would like to thank the Pakistan Peoples Party for showing confidence in me and giving me a chance to serve the people, again.”
He said that nobody is above the law and that it should be equal for everyone.
Malik said that it was “very important” for him to thank Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain for the support that he had extended to him and the PPP. “Altaf bhai always talks about strengthening democracy. I would like to dedicate all my efforts to his cooperation.”
Just a week after he resigned as a senator, the PPP had decided to again put up his name for a seat in the upper legislative house.
The prime minister’s adviser on interior affairs had tendered his resignation from the senate on July 10. The Supreme Court had earlier suspended his senate membership for holding dual citizenship.

Can the PCO SC finally pay some attention to real people's cases instead of this musical chair game and waste of time and precious resources?
NO CHANGE
Serve the people, ha what awoke! He's there only to serve himself!
@Ch. Allah Daad, I am very well aware how the elections in the Senate take place, how many people has been bribed and how they trade with each other the Senate seats. Pakistani law makers violate the laws themselves day in and day out, some of these elected has hood- winked the custom officials and others had attacked the Supreme Court of Pakistan physically where the justices has to run for their lives.PML-N has tacit agreement with the most corrupt President of Pakistan , and it is right under the supervision of the opposition what has been going on in the country for the last 4years, so don't tell me that PML-N is innocent by-standers. All of them has amassed wealth by dishonest means and will go to any length to protect it. The whole system is rotten to the core and God knows how this country is going to survive with these looters and thugs.
Many many CONGRATULATIONS to the people of Pakistan. This is a victory of democracy. Without Mr. Malik-Champion of every thing- every single thing must have stopped functioing in Government. Does not matter, if he is convicted by law pardoned by our great president. Our special thanks to the people of Sindh from PPP, MQM, ANP, and PML for bringing back this champion. Your representatives showed ultimate unity. Great work and have them keep it up. There are many other convicts out who may perform even better than Mr. Malik. People must carry on fighting out in streets with eachother to suppport their parties and leaders - obviously not the mother land they live in.
@ Naeem, Please read Senate election procedures before commenting. Senators are elected by provincial assemblies and Mr. Malik got elected from Sindh assembly quota of Senators in which PML(N) has no member. How could PML(N) stop Mr. Malik's elections then? Please try something else..
Oops we did it again...
Democracy has never been as discredited as it today is in Pakistan. At least I as a pakistani in his 30's will have no complains if this sham system is burried once and for all.
In civilized countries person like Malik would vanish from the scene, this is absolutely a travesty and a cruel joke on the nation of Pakistan , the rubber stamp parliament and senate has done such a injustice to the nation, people should not forget this high handedness by Zardari and his minions come next elections and it should be sooner than later. They are corrupt to the core along with the opposition and just doing to safeguard their ill gotten money from Pakistan. When would this nation of Pakistan ever get up from this long slumber, Pakistanis wonder why we have such a bad reputation around the world, when the crooks rules the country then don't expect the common people to be law abiding citizens. There is no shame for this outfit in Islamabad.
Fruits of democracy !!!
Congratulations to you and your family, ET readers :-)
Nobody is above the law and everyone is equal. What about the President and his cronies. Do we have a seperate law for them. Time will tell.
Definitely a sign of end of times...
.... and Zardari keeps rubbing it on nation's face..... long live hippocracy (a.k.a Pakistani democracy)
Unopposed??? So what was PMLN doing? Oh I see it was worying about the $32 Million. Pitty the nation who vote for these parties!
Another SLAP on SC by our SO CALLED DEMOCRATIC GOVT.
Whenever Mr. Malik comes to media, I recall what Dr. Mirza spoke about him......then I cant control my laugh.
Where we are going? This is a mere reflection of the nation. All of us. We should all rectify and repent from Allah in this month.
one more bad news..........
This is what is called a travesty of justice.
Tom and Jerry game between PPP and Supreme Court of Pakistan.
