Act of terror: Blast damages clinic in Tank

TANK:

Unidentified persons tried to blow up a clinic located in the Wapda Colony of Tank city on Sunday, police said. Kausar Ali Khan, SHO of Saddar police station, said that unidentified persons planted a bomb along the wall of Dr Ghazala Hidayat’s clinic which went off at around 9:30pm.

“The main gate and the boundary wall were partially damaged in the explosion,” he said. Kausar said that the area where the blast occurred was sensitive. “There is an office of special branch police and Wapda Colony,” he said, adding that so far the police have not registered the FIR.

Sabir Shah, an official at the special branch police Tank, told The Express Tribune that as they heard the blast they rushed towards the site and surrounded the area. “Our personnel collected the evidence from the site and started a search operation,” he said. Shah added that the blast partially demolished the boundary wall of the building, “Fortunately no one was killed or injured” he said.
