BAHAWALPUR: Police clashed with students of Quaid-e-Azam Medical College Bahawalpur for staging protests against increase in college fee and power outages on the campus.

Fifteen students have also been arrested on Friday.

In a similar protest on Thursday, sixty students were arrested while more than 20 students were injured due to police reaction.

Young doctors Association of the Victoria Hospital has voiced support for the protesting students. The students have vowed to hold more protests till the resignation of the principal.

On Thursday, students had surrounded the principal’s office to discuss the fees issue, however the police did not allow them access to the principal.

The DSP and DPO also reached the site, after which the students resorted to stone throwing which injured the DPO. The police then started manhandling the students, which resulted in a number of students and policemen being injured.
