Cricket: Qasmi Sports trounce Dollar East

KARACHI: Qasmi Sports thrashed Dollar East by 33 runs in the opening match of the State Life Trophy’s second Vital Five Club T20 Ramzan Cricket Tournament, yesterday. Talha Faheem and Javed Kohistani took three wickets apiece to guide Qasmi Sports to the win after they scored 160 for nine in 20 overs. Ashraf Ali scored 56 and hit three sixes and six boundaries, while Shehzad Ali played a 31-run cameo. Left-arm spinner Azam Hussain and off-spinner Taha Mamsa picked up three wickets each for Dollar East but were bowled out for 127 in reply. Owais Pasta scored 45 off 30 balls, which included three sixes and as many fours. Fahim gave away 10 runs for his three wickets, while skipper Abid Qasim also chipped in with three scalps.
