Home at last: Over 1,500 Waziristan families return

PESHAWAR: The fifth phase of repatriation of South Waziristan Agency’s (SWA) IDPs was completed on Friday as more than 1,500 families returned from Dera Ismail Khan, Tank and other parts of the country to their hometowns.

Operational Commander SWA Major General Ahmed Mehmood Hayat received the returning IDPs while the families were escorted to their homes by the security forces.

Upon returning, the IDPs thanked the security officials as well as the government functionaries for making appropriate arrangements to ensure their safe return before the advent of Ramazan.
