Rescue 1122 on Friday issued show cause notices against seven rescue officers. This was out of a total of around 8,500 employees.
A statement issued by the Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) said that show cause notices were served following a performance evaluation upon the completion of their probation period. The officers included deputy directors, emergency officers and public relations officers (PROs). It said that some of the officers were spreading “disinformation” about the management of the service to obscure their own unsatisfactory performance.
It quoted the Punjab Emergency Service Director General (DG) Dr Rizwan Naseer as saying, “Unsatisfactory performance is not acceptable in the organisation.” He said that the Rescue 1122 management was not deterred by the “disinformation” being spread by these officers. It said the officers were given several warnings to improve their performance but had failed to do so.
