Injured ‘robber’ dies in police custody

His two accomplices had fled while he was beaten by the people and later handed over to the police.

A man, who was injured after being beaten by a crowd in Madina Town a few days ago, died in police custody on Tuesday night.


Police said Ashfaq was caught by the residents of Naimat Colony-II allegedly trying to deprive a motorcyclist of his vehicle. His two accomplices had fled while he was beaten by the people and later handed over to the police.

He was taken to the district headquarters hospital from where he was taken to the police station, where he died on Tuesday night.
