A court has bailed out a dozen activists of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf against a surety of Rs5,000 each.
The suspects were arrested on June 18 as they had entered the high-security “Red Zone” during a protest rally.
They had scuffled with the police when the law enforcers stopped them from moving ahead to the Sindh chief minister house.
They were later released on the same day on personal bonds.
On Tuesday, the charge-sheet against the alleged accused was submitted to the trial court.
They were charged under sections 144, 147, 148 and 186 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
After going through the charge-sheet and case papers, the Karachi south judicial magistrate, Nadeem Badr Qazi, admitted the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf activists, including Dr Arif Alvi, to bail against a solvent surety of Rs5,000 each.
