GILGIT: At least eight passengers were killed and over 15 others wounded after a vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a ravine in Astore valley, said police on Tuesday. “Apparently, overloading caused the accident,” said an official investigating the case. With more than 20 passengers onboard, the vehicle was heading towards Astore from Parishing valley when it landed an accident near Thingi village, said a local, Rafi. The injured were taken to a government hospital. Police and local volunteers launched a rescue operating to recover bodies.
