KARACHI: The teachers union of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) has appealed to the vice chancellor, Dr Muhammad Qaiser, that senior serving teachers should be appointed for administrative posts rather than retired teachers. The teachers union president, Dr Ismail Moosa and secretary general Najamul Aarfeen said that about 100 officers had been appointed on contract basis during the last six months which may create a financial crisis for the institution. The teachers union demanded that serving teachers be given administrative posts and that retired teachers be invited for teaching assignments only. They hoped that the vice chancellor would consider their appeal favourably.
