Illegal activity: 11 arrested for manufacturing kites

FAISALABAD: Eleven people, including the owner of a kite making unit, were arrested by a team led by Assistant Commissioner (City) Zaheer Anwar Jappa in a raid on Sunday. The raid was carried on a tip off that kites and other equipment related to the activity was being manufactured at the facility in Madanpura. Those arrested were identified as factory owner Muhammad Waseem, Nadeem, Waris, Rashid, Shahid, Asif, Yasir, Sajid Fraza, Umar, Ali Raza and Abdul Ghaffar. Kites and chemical-coated string worth hundreds of thousands of rupees was seized from the godown. Meanwhile, four trucked loaded with kites and chemical-coated string were seized by TMO Jinnah Town Malik Ameen.
