Snooker: Amir, Majid continue winning run

KARACHI: National junior champion Hunain Amir and Mohammad Majid continued their fine run, registering victories on the second day of the World U21 Snooker Championship.

While Hunain defeated Sweden’s Belan Sharif 4-0, his compatriot Ali fended off a challenge from England’s Mitchell Mann to win 4-3 in the event underway in China.

Amir, who beat UAE’s Omen Ahmed Hashim 4-0 in his first outing, won with frame scores of 68-25, 76-15, 71-1, 55-46.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association President Almagir Sheikh was pleased with the duo’s performance. “I’m very proud with the way these two are playing,” Sheikh told The Express Tribune. “Beating an English player is impressive. These players are doing better than what I expected off them.”
