KARACHI:

Preparations for next month’s U19 World Cup got underway as the Pakistan squad members reported for the eight-day training camp in Lahore yesterday.

The training camp will begin with a game against the emerging players’ team today followed by a couple of matches with the Lahore City Cricket Association’s (LCCA) side on July 18 and 19. The colts will play another game on July 23 against a local team, a day before departing to Australia.

“The matches will give them good practice,” Pakistan U19 coach Sabih Azhar told The Express Tribune. “It’s a comprehensive schedule that will help the players in all aspects.”
