The march, headed by Maulana Samiul Haq, left from Quetta yesterday (Saturday), stopped at Yaaro for the night and resumed its march to Chaman early morning.
The participants of the long march will halt briefly at the Pir Ali Zai forest, Mir Zai base and Fort Abdullah, following which they will resume the march to Chaman.
Strict security measures have been taken for the long march which was part of the second phase of the long march announced by DPC.
Eariler, Maulana Samiul Haq had said that the long march was not just against re-opening Nato supplies but also against corruption, the increase in prices and power outages, adding that the act was un-Islamic.
After the first phase when DPC marched to Islamabad, the second phase, which will hold marches from Quetta to Chaman, Karachi to Hyderabad, Multan to Dera Ghazi Khan, Sargodha to Mianwali, Peshawar to Khyber Pass, Rawalpindi to Chakwal Talagang, Faisalabad to Sargodha, Khushab and Islamabad is underway.

DPC should go to Afghanistan and protest and fight there why they are disturbing the peace of my country and people.Sami ul huq,sheikh rasheed,hameed gul always prompt other's children to fight.I just want to say them Fear God.stop instigating youth
@Saleem
Please don't send your undesirables into Afghanistan, they belong in Pakistan and may their numbers increase ten fold.
@Nasrullah Khan:
are you a Muslim ?
A complete shutter down strike through out the country for a week will only bring down the government and army nothing less will make rulers realize their follies.
Their stance is changing. Basic stance is SHARIAT in all of Pakistan. Nothing short of that will satisfy these people. So what is wrong with the silent majority? Are we all cowards and afraid that if we stand up to them , they will bomb us or shoot us. They will try but only if we let them.
Please let all of them cross the border and then close it
Imran Khan must distance from these extremist fanatics if he wants to bring a change in Pakistan. Bringing a twelfth century rule is not a change but is a reversal.
The Islamic fanatics were deadly against creation of Pakistan and now they are destroying it with their hatred and bigotry. No country can survive without other's help, it is a give and take all around the world. Pakistan needs education and advancement and not medieval and twelfths century revival.
Illiteracy is the main cause for all of this...
'En route' are two separate words, huh!
The closing of the route, and then re-opening, apparently without something in return (at least the nation has not been told if anything was gained by opening the land route, apart from the money the transporters may earn), has shown once again that beggars are not choosers. The whole episode shows that they are continuing to serve the master, not even at the same pay, but on a reduced one! So what is this show by the DPC about? Once in the war on terror (thanks to Musharraf) they have no choice but to assist the warriors against terror in Afghanistan. As for the militants, of whose sympathiser the DPC seems to be, they should ask themselves what the militants have achieved so far, except killing innocent Muslims of Pakistan and Afghanistan!!
Bunch of extremists whose hands are red with the blood of innocent Pakistanis and they are now showing their selves as 'Protectors of Pakistan'? What a pity!
IK and PTI should also join the DPC march, after all these are IK's vote banks.
Whatever it is, give them a break. They are at least better than the so called champions of politics who had no courage to even take out a rally on this issue.
Read carefully Maulan Sami Ul Haq's statement, DPC has changed its stance.
There is not a single flag of Pakistan in sight at DPC rallies. Ask yourselves why?
The show must go on, with the accretion of new motives it gathers more and more momentum.The string-pullers are certainly unremitting.
Read thge alst paragraph O_o impressive.
