Inoculation: Over 150,000 to be vaccinated in Kohat

NDRF working to address misconceptions, concerns raised over polio eradication drive.

In the anti-polio vaccination drive scheduled to start on July 16 in Kohat, an estimated 159,499 children will be vaccinated, according to the National Development and Research Foundation (NRDF). NRDF Coordinator Abdul Jalil said that a total of 499 teams would take part in the drive.

Out of these, 404 will be mobile teams, 62 fixed teams and 33 transit teams, which will cover all union councils in the district. He said that to help eradicate polio, parents are requested to get their children under the age of five vaccinated. He said that the NDRF is working at community levels to address any misconceptions and concerns that have been raised over the polio eradication drive. NRDF will also work in collaboration with the district administration, provincial health department and local clerics to make the campaign a success, he added.
