Traffic police: Rs1.4m in fine collected from violators
According to the traffic police, around 793 vehicles and motorcycles were impounded in different police stations.

City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi issued 37,460 tickets to violators of traffic rules in June, besides imposing Rs14,621,200 as fine.
According to the traffic police, around 793 vehicles and motorcycles were impounded in different police stations.
Similarly, taking action against the tinted glasses police issued 496 tickets. City traffic police confiscated 5,000 vehicles, motorcycles that were without the number plates and issued tickets to 363 vehicles for wrong parking.
Moreover, 283 tickets were issued for careless and rash driving. Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Ishtiaq Hussain Shah said 645 tickets were issued on violation of route permit.
He further said that 199 tickets were issued to juvenile drivers and 315 tickets to those creating hindrance in the smooth flow of traffic. Meanwhile, the CTO said City Traffic Police has launched a campaign to educate people about traffic rules.
